NCRCLS
Raleigh Chinese
Language
School (RCLS) is a registered non-profit organization specialized in
teaching
Mandarin and traditional style Chinese characters. The school now
offers 26
language classes, serving students starting from 3 and half years old
to
adults. It also provides 12 cultural classes including Chinese Folk
Dancing,
Tai-Chi, Kung-Fu, and Chinese Calligraphy. Currently it serves 350
students.
RCLS is
operated in Forest Hills Baptist
Church,
which is
conveniently located at the west edge of downtown Raleigh, the capital
of North
Carolina. School hours are 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM Saturdays.

The PTA
of
RCLS
frequently
provides service to all parents, such as Chinese knitting classes, and
free
seminars covering healthcare, investment, cooking, life styles, etc.
School
calendar is
similar to
Wake County School District's. There are two semesters (fall and
spring) per
year.

Guidelines and By-Laws
School
History
RCLS was
founded in September 1977
on the campus of NC State University by Jane Shih, Anne Chang, Ellen
Ko, and
Ellen Chien.
Effective from December 1996, RCLS has been a registered non-profit
organization with 501 C (3) code from IRS.
Past
principals are Jane Shih, Peter
Hsing, Xavier Lee, Chao S. Feung, Chih Li, Kwong T. Chung, Lindy Huang,
John
Wei, Jim Lee, Ting Fang, Hui-Ming Sun, Nai Po Lee, Ching-Ju Chen, Tai

Wang, Hiliary Lee, Jason Kao, Yaw-Der Wang, Tyan-Shu Jou, Ming-Chun

For school
year 2009-2010,
Ching-Miao Chen is the Principal and Wen Shyu the Vice Principal.
